Loving Father, we pray to ask that you will protect us from Satan's lies and cruelty, especially those helpless or despairing. Bless the innocent unborn upon whom you have seen fit to bestow Your gift of life. Oh Lord, we ask for you to embolden with kindness and enrich with love the hearts of those women pregnant today whom were neither expecting nor planning motherhood. Grant also Your gifts of courage and charity to the men close to these new mothers, and help them together to find the humility and grace which will allow them to discover the joys of parenthood. Comfort their worries, and sooth their fears, and help them to set their selfishness aside to give these new children lives and loving homes. May these expecting mothers and fathers find hope where once there was only fear and joy where once there was only sorrow. We ask this through Christ, Your Son and our Lord.

ReplyDeleteI wrote this prayer shortly before the start of one of our CLFL meetings, because our president wanted me to give the opening prayer. A few people asked me to send a copy of it to them, so I put it up here.
